IBFAN and WABA both work on improving breastfeeding rates worldwide through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding and optimal infant feeding practices. IBFAN has relentlessly fought to reduce infant and young child morbidity and mortality through consistent vigilance on industry marketing strategies and adverse developments in infant nutrition by highlighting these at World Health Assembly (WHA) and beyond. IBFAN works for universal and full implementation and monitoring of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and WHA Resolutions. IBFAN is one of WABA’s core partners and plays an important role in the protection of sound infant feeding practices through Code vigilance, human rights advocacy and monitoring of breastfeeding trends. This role continues to be relevant and important in today’s world.

Warm regards
WABA

    Cameroon
Link is one of WABA’s and IBFAN’s core partners playing an important role in
the protection of sound infant feeding practices through Code vigilance, human
rights advocacy and monitoring of breastfeeding trends. This role of Cameroon
to be relevant and important in today’s Africa through collaboration led to an
increase of exclusive breastfeeding from 20 % to 28% last year. From a recent
evaluation, exclusive breastfeeding in Cameroon now stands at 34%. Though this progress, Cameroon did not yet arrived its planned target of 50% in 2015. It has now made a bet for 90% by 2030 within the Sustainable Development Goals.
