Understanding International Policy on HIV and Breastfeeding: A Comprehensive Resource

This Kit (2nd Edition, 2018) provides an overview of infant feeding in the context of HIV, based on current evidence (2018). The Kit contains information, issues to think about and discuss, actions to take and references. The Kit may serve as a useful tool for anyone who works with mother-child dyads in areas where HIV is endemic.

This document is endorsed by the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. We hope the Kit will be distributed widely to help mother-child dyads in reaching their breastfeeding goals, which could lead to a reduction in morbidity and mortality related to HIV.
