Policymaker
WABA calls on Policymakers to:
- Include breastfeeding in all relevant policies, especially nutrition, children and women’s health, agriculture and labour
- Enact, implement and monitor national legislation that covers the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes
- Enact parent-friendly workplace policies and legislation for working parents including the informal sector
- Implement the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and breastfeeding-friendly community programmes
- Work with healthcare providers and advocates to implement and monitor breastfeeding policies and programmes
