We would like to invite all youth to give us your constructive ideas! Do you like this video? Think you can improve on it? Would you like to create an adaptation of this video? Your adaptation can reflect the scenario and language in your country and most importantly to appeal to youths and interest them on the issue of infant and young child feeding.
If you are interested to adapt this video – do send us your storyboard in English for our consideration. You may stand a chance to obtain a small grant to produce your video. Do write us at waba@waba.org.my with your brilliant ideas. We look forward to hear from you!
Some Advocacy facts you can use in your video:
– The World Health Organisation estimates that 1.5 million infants die around the world every year because they are not breastfed. That’s over two a minute!
– The use of bottles, artificial milks and other risky products can result in fatal infections in infants.
– Parents are constantly being persuaded to use alternatives to breastmilk. All around us, in shops, food stores and even in pharmacies, infant formula is advertised by businesses in their own interests and not the infant’s.
– The makers of infant formula profit from undermining mothers’ confidence that they can breastfeed their babies and that this is all a baby needs.
